UPDATES

Civil Air Patrol now has an updated CAP Fact Sheet, containing the address and contact information for CAP National Headquarters, that can be printed on the front and back of a regular sheet of copy paper. There is also a fill-in version of the fact sheet, which allows each CAP unit to include their address and contact information at the bottom of the first page (in the shaded blue area) before printing.

With more emphasis being placed on planning in CAPR 190-1, NHQ/PA reminds DPAs and PAOs that there are online resources available to help with your Public Affairs and Crisis Communications plans:

Civil Air Patrol now has a revised CAPabilities ops mission brochure available for use. It is available online in two versions -- high-resolution (printable) or low-resolution (suitable for a quick review).

The Pacific Coast Region will conduct its 2013 Public Affairs Officers Academy May 4-5 in Reno, Nev., at the Ramada Hotel/Casino Reno, located at 1000 East Sixth Street. The purpose of this PAO Academy is to provide PCR’s public affairs officers and public information officers, as well as other PAOs and PIOs nationwide, quality and proficient training to insure they perform their duties and responsibilities in a skillful and professional manner as they promote Civil Air Patrol within their units, communities, state and country.

The PAO Academy will cover just about everything PAOs and PIOs need to know to perform the various tasks of CAP's Public Affairs Program. Recent changes in the program will also be discussed.

Every PAO and PIO should take advantage of this training opportunity. Find out more about the PCR PAO Academy at this link on the official blog of National Headquarters Public Affairs -- PA Essentials.
