Membership Card Guide
The following guidelines outline the requirements for your eServices photo, which will be used for your CAP photo membership card and CAP Form 101 Specialty Qualification Card. After you crop and upload your photo into eServices, your photo will be automatically sent to your commander for validation prior to use. If it is rejected for any reason, you will receive an e-mail notification explain why it was rejected.
Suggestions for taking your photo
- We recommend using "Portrait Setting" on camera.
- You can also try taking your picture vertically instead of horizontally.
- Photo size should be around 500 kb

| - Must be a color picture with full face and frontal view
- Must have a white or off-white background
- Photo should capture from just above the top of the head to the bottom of the neck line
- Photo should be in normal attire or appropriate CAP uniform
- Photo must have been taken within the last 12 months
- If you normally wear prescription glasses, wear them for the picture - if they are transition lenses, wait until they become transparent
- If you have a problem with glare from your glasses, tilt your head down slightly when you take the photo
- Head should be centered in the picture and eyes open and looking at the camera
- Preferred electronic photo format is .jpg - though .png and .gif is acceptable
- Photo needs to be replaced with a current one every five years

| eServices Photo Uploading Instructions |
| 1. Login to eServices (Note: If you have not registered before, you will need to go to "First time eServices users click here to activate your account!") - You will need the following to register:
Last name, last four digits of your SSN, your email address and birth date 2. Once inside eServices, click on "Photo Upload" under CAP Utilities on the left 3. Click on the "Browse" button and go to where the picture file is located on your computer 4. Double click the picture file and click the "Contine to Crop" button 5. Resize and drag the box to highlight/center your head and neck line as shown in the photo on the front of this page 6. Click " Crop photo" in order to save it 7. Once you click "Crop photo," your photo will then be submitted to your unit commander for validation |
